Yeah. I have a picture of Abraham Lincoln's tomb on my computer. Of course, I would click on this picture and then have to explain how I'm a big weirdo who loves anything to do with history.
We live less than two hours away from Springfield, IL. Springfield homes a ton of Lincoln sights. Such as:
This is in front of the tomb. It is supposedly good luck to rub his nose. Which, explains why his nose is a completely different color at this point. Too many field trips and family vacations full of people who want some good luck!
Lincoln's Springfield Home
This is actually one of my favorite places to visit while in Springfield. There are tours of the home. Visitors can walk through the whole house, which has been decorated with some original and some look a like items. I have been on the tour multiple times, and still enjoy seeing the rooms where the Lincoln's once lived every day life.
The Lincoln Museum
The museum is still fairly new. I have been three times over the past five-ish years. They have very neat wax sculptures. There is a fun interactive learning room for the little kids. Check it out if you are in the area!
Anyway. Yes. I love history. An unnatural amount. I'm not ashamed. I fully accept this part of my life. I guess my husband does too, since he listened to my self made tour of the museum and proposed to me in front of Lincoln's house. It may be a good thing we went there before the museum.
